My Coins Count – and they can help people without homes
School is starting again, and it’s a great time to remember children around the world who won’t be attending the same school this year because they have been displaced from their homes due to conflict in their country. Funds collected this year through My Coins Count will support MCC refugee projects.
Refugees from countries like South Sudan, Syria, and Colombia receive food, comforters, soap, and school supplies from MCC to help meet their basic needs.
Begin collecting coins each Sunday to bring to the Oregon Mennonite Festival for World Relief on October 8. Let’s help remind refugees that people around the world are thinking about them and welcome them. ■
About My Coins Count
Spare change can lead to global change! My Coins Count is an intergenerational way to raise money for Mennonite Central Committee peace, relief and development projects around the world. You can collect coins (and larger donations) all year then deliver them to the Oregon Mennonite Festival for World Relief. When you come to the festival - bring your coins along!
